New Start

Well, I had most of the week off from school, so my best friend came over to my house and helped me clean my room. It's not like I'm taking advantage of her or anything, but she says she really likes cleaning other people's houses. I just can't figure her out sometimes. So, it took two days, but it was definitely worth it to see my room so crap-free. One analogy I used while cleaning was:

"It's like some dirty garage filled with scum. You get a power-hose, the kind they use to put out fires, and blast water at it everywhere. The scum melts off the walls and all that's left is to push the scum down the drain."

It felt very rewarding to cleanse my room of all the accumulated papers and trinkets and clothes that I will never wear again. We filled up a whole laundry tub of things to give away, and a whole garbage bag of trash. And you know what's funny? My friend's room is cleaner than mine, yet it's smaller and her bed takes up half the space in it. It's sort of embarrassing.

But, after such success cleaning my room, I decided to start knitting again. I got good when I practiced but I can't finish the rows and my yarn isn't very tightly woven so it's starting to fray. That means I will need yet another tutorial from my friend, and some new yarn. Hey, at least I tried. I sometimes think this knitting thing could really work.
